To the Lighthouse

- This  post is in response of the this worksheet , http://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2014/09/worksheet-virginia-woolfs-to-lighthouse.html
To the Lighthouse’, written by Virginia Woolf and published in 1927, centers on the period before and after World War one. The background is of great importance to an understanding of the gender relations in the novel. As Woolf is writing out of a society with well-established values, that wanted the vote for all women and equal rights. In many ways Woolf is through as she criticizes many aspects of the patriarchal world that she was a part, though some critics say that she seems to support the patriarch.
- Mrs. Ramsay is the stereotypical mother figure, beautiful, beloved, helpful, and the novel does not criticize her achievements as a mother of eight. That she thinks this is clear in the image of her sitting and knitting, thinking all the though, and noticing the beam of the lighthouse through the window. This image of the lighthouse as exactly a light in the dark is very powerful in the way it reveals. Mrs. Ramsay is the protector of the men in her family. In fact, she uses the men’s relationship with each other to give her peace of mind, a chance to rest from her regular works as mother of the family.
- Mrs. Ramsay is powerful from the novel’s opening pages not only as a woman of great humanity, but also as a guard. If beside we are showing character of Lily . In her life she is doing lots of struggle and this think  represent in her painting also . In this novel we find two major character Lily and Mrs. Ramsay.Beside we can said that  one or another way writer  represent ownself here.
- In the novel two types of myths .Oedipus myth and Pagan Myth.
The Odipus Myth presents  in the characters like, James and Mrs.Ramsay. her main goal is to care for her youngest son James .Mrs. Ramsay tells her son that’ if the weather is good tomorrow, they can go to the light house. So, here we can see how she is care for her child with love .And other side Mr. Ramsay tells him, today that’s not possible ..So, as mother Mrs.Ramsay is know how to do care of children.    We can say that, Mrs. Ramsay is about as close as Virginia Woolf.  Mrs. Ramsay is the lovely star at the center of the Ramsay family, and at the heart of the novel. Mrs.Ramsay magical power as the great mother is quite clear in the first section. .Mrs.Ramsay is more emotional, whose magical force attracts people. The second . We find pagan myth in Mrs. Ramsay’s character. In pagan myth Rhea, Demeter and Persephone this are reflected in Mrs. Ramsay’s character.
 - So at last we can said that ,Mrs.Ramsay was performing role very successfully being the central character of mother, wife, and friend holds power in the novel. She was always trying to living her life full of happiness. But after Mrs.Ramsay’s death, Lily completes her painting. Thought the painting of Mrs.Ramsay and James is so conceptual, Lily achieves the convey of magical power by finishing the portrait of Mrs.Ramsay.

The Birthday Party

This post is in response the worksheet on The Birthday Partyhttp://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2013/09/worksheet-film-screening-harold-pinters.html

Harold Pinter’s play centre’s on the life of the main protagonist Stanley Webber, an unemployed pianist, who, for the last year, has been living as a lodger with Meg and Petey in their boarding house. Stanley is living in inactive away from the outside world. However, the relatively peaceful, domestic atmosphere of the boarding house is disturbed by the imposition of two unknown characters, Goldberg and McCann. The two men are “agents” of an “organization” and have come to claim Stanley. The characters in the play previous to the arrival of Goldberg and McCann are described very dangerously.

Beside in the play the nature of language and dialogue is also central to the theme of menace in The Birthday Party .The Birthday Party, it may advise the absurdity of the human condition, for Stanley, like all of mankind feels unsure of himself and unsafe without certainties in his universe. Stanley, like mankind, is fearful that what lies beyond the limits of his comfortable environment is threatening and aggressive.

Da Vinci Code

This post is in response the worksheet on Da Vinci Code http://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2014/01/worksheet-screening-movie-da-vinci-code.html
Here I am presenting  reply about the worksheet of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
In a thriller, the hero must stop the plans of an enemy than uncover a crime that has already happened. Suspense is a critical genre. It gives the viewer a sensitivity an attraction and pleasure mixed with, tension, and nervousness.
No I am not showing any film of Alfred Hitchcok. But I heard about him .He was filmmaker and suspense things in his films.
In The Da Vinci Code there is link made between Mary Magdalene and the Holy Grail.   In the novel such as faith about the sacred feminine, various signs and symbols, interaction between Jesus and Mary. In the novel The Da Vinci Code refers to cryptic messages evidently included by Leonardo Da Vinci into his artwork. According to the novel, Leonardo was a member of an ancient secret society called the “priory of sion” as secret society defending the bloodline of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. Because it evidently holds the secret of this bloodline, it is offended by the Catholic Church.
If we compare Sophie’s character with other female literary characters like Elizabeth of Frankenstein, Hester of The Scarlet Letter and Ophelia of Hamlet all have more influence. And they all are true on her position. Here Elizabeth and Hester have courages. Beside Sophia is very clever and brilliant .But if we are showing in literature woman having more power like Sophie.

Waiting for Godot

This post is in response the worksheet on Waiting for Godot http://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2014/09/worksheet-screening-movie-waiting-for.html

That Vladimir and Estragon hanging them from tree a reference to the crucifixion. But it is also religious symbol .Here tree may be dead. When the second act opens there are four or five leaves on the tree proving that the tree is alive. Than if here we are show the setting is the same in Act-1and Act – 2also .Because in both act moon rise and evening fall into night. And here Vladimir and Estragon both were waiting for Godot in both act .And Pozzo and Lucky were coming in both act also .In short, mostly same activities were repeatedly in both act.
The play waiting for Godot was conveying the impression of some truths about the hopeless destiny of human race. And here Samuel said, “Human being waiting is no longer hapless. Waiting gives signification of existence “.
Here two tramps in the same cycle of waiting for a salvation that will never come. But both characters are easily passed his days, with full of passion .And how they are doing such activities like, discuss name of Pozzo, because it is very similar with Godot. And full observation on lucky, also both are sing a song .So here according to me the subject of play is like “waiting “. Because Vladimir and Estragon easily waiting for Goddot. End of the act,
Estragon: Well, shall we go?

 Vladimir: Yes, let’s go.
So, in both of act they are thinking about suicide but not success. But here they do not move .Here may be Estragon changed point of view of audience that Vladimir and Estragon are part of universe too .Because here they are “WATING” and it is also activities of waiting , an universal condition .
In short, play is part of Theatre of Absurd. And this play is start as an arbitrary point and also ends like same.

One Night @ the Call Center

This post is in response the worksheet on One Night @the Call Center http://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2014/12/chetan-bhagars-one-night-call-center.html

Here I am try to give my view points on novel By Chetan Bhagat named, ‘One Night @ the Call Center’.  I don’ read the novel but as I was watching Bollywood movie, ‘Hello’, which is based on this novel and in much more case it is reliable source to study this novel because this movie is very near to text and very faithful to text. So it can helpful as per my views.
Author uses very simple and ordinary language in this novel because I think he wants to reach to the heart of India, to young Indians. So at one point this thing becomes good part of this novel then at other side this thing becomes negative for writer because this thing makes him writer of popular literature and common literature which s not up to the mark of critics and cannot be considered as classic literature. But as per my thinking as time passes and if this literature of CB survives then it may be considered as Classic Literature. If it is popular then even CB reaches  to Young Indian’s heart and it is his achievement.

Hamlet

This post is in response the worksheet on Hamlet http://dilipbarad.blogspot.in/2013/08/worksheet-hamlet-movie-screening.html

This movie is very faithful to play and also related to original text. It is very nice movie because with the help of the movie we are easily understand original textbook. After seen movie I liked character of Hamlet. Because start to end of movie always take revenge for his father ,but finally end of the movie he is do it .so here we also find the relationship between father and son. So it was good attitude of him.

It can give us aesthetic delight. Here the location of every scene is natural and originality related to the dialogues. When Ophelia die at that time it is very painful and shocking moment, but for death of Ophelia main reason was Hamlet, because of his one mistake gives this result.

In the movie Kenneth Branagh uses mirror is also good scene of this movie, and at the end of the movie when body of Hamlet it is also symbol of Christ.

If I will be director of this movie, so first of all I reject this death scene here, I choose only death of Claudius beside select the love story between Hamlet and Ophelia. But I think so its perfect play by Shakespeare.
